Singapore — Actual Budget for 3 Days

Hi Shineys! I’m sharing my actual budget for 3 days in Singapore. Although the trip lasted 5 days, the tour was just for 3 days, with two days dedicated to flights going to and from Davao. You can spend less than the budget I’ve outlined below if you skip restaurants and coffee shops and opt for more affordable accommodations.

SCOOT AIRFARE

PHP 9,550.02 (about USD 166.95)

DAVAO-SINGAPORE-DAVAO

Scoot is a Singaporean low-cost airline, so you can book affordable flights here.

CHECK-IN BAGGAGE

PHP 847.50 (about USD 14.81)

SINGAPORE-DAVAO

We booked a 20kg check-in baggage for our flight from Singapore to Davao. My friend and I shared it, so we each had 10 kilos. The cost for the 20kg was PHP 1,695 (about USD 29.63), which we divided by 2.

The free hand carry allowance for Scoot is 10 kilos. We just brought a foldable bag for the pasalubong and shopping, which we will check in on our way home.

HOTEL BOOKING

PHP 8,140.09 (about USD 142.29)

We booked at Hotel 81 Geylang. The room is PHP 16,280.18 (about USD 284.58) for 4 nights, good for 2 pax. We divided the amount by 2.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

PHP 852 (about USD 14.89)

TRAVEL TAX

PHP 1,620 (about USD 28.32)

TERMINAL FEE

PHP 784 (about USD 13.70)

KLOOK ATTRACTIONS BOOKING

PHP 5,447.55 (about USD 95.22)

SIM CARD

PHP 187.50 (about USD 3.28)

We bought a sim card for PHP 375 (about USD 6.55) and just shared the Internet connection.

TRANSPORTATION

PHP 4,000 (about USD 69.92)

We used grab car all throughout the trip.

MEALS

PHP 6,000 (about USD 104.88)

The coffee from the coffee shops really added to the cost. 🤣

TOTAL: PHP 37,428.66 (about USD 654.25)

TRAVEL BUDGET TIPS:

  1. Book early to take advantage of plane ticket promos.

  2. There are much lower accommodation prices in Singapore that you can check out.

  3. You can try Singapore Tourist Pass for unlimited public transport such as bus services, MRT and LRT trains. 1-DAY PASS: $17, 2-DAY PASS: $24, 3-DAY PASS: $29

  4. You can skip restaurants and coffee shops to save money. Try to explore the hawker centers. They have a variety of local dishes at affordable prices. Meals can range from SGD 5 to SGD 10.

  5. There are plenty of filtered water refilling stations in Singapore. Bring a water bottle so you don’t have to buy one. We have filtered water in our hotel, so I just refill my water bottle.

Travel Thoughts

Traveling is so much fun, but saving is just as sweet. What’s our ultimate goal? Funds for travel, funds for home, and funds for our next adventure!
